For a phenomenal “Happy Holiday.” one look at the Cannon Dresden assortment might be enough, but the Santa Clockwork entries, both in Trade Figure examples and seated on delightful Reindeers and yet other animals is a feast for the collecting eyes. Impressive Dresden figures includes a cross section of the best they ever made: the grouping even features a Ferris wheel measuring almost one foot high that is enough to take anyone’s Dresden breath away.
Rich and Jeanne Bertoia are both proud to offer this sale to collectors; they have always hosted the best in toy sales, and this one, in their words, promises to bring back the spirit of a true toy sales event. Everything fell in order, and the collections are astounding, says Rich, and Jeanne has again assembled a variety of interesting, rare, and desirable doorstops for an expected unforgettable session. Her real pleasure, as she states, just might be the expressions on collector’s faces when they see the contents of the Fred Cannon Holiday collection. His discriminating eye will be much appreciated by those seeking the finest in Glass ornaments, Dresdens, and Santa creations.
Ken Hutchinson distinguished himself by authoring the Automotive Book, and as collectors familiar with the work know, his collection is vast in Citroen, Jep and other European gems, giving his session of auto offerings great anticipation. Ken collected for pleasure, and his eye for auto styling started when he was a young racer of Ferraris in the sixties. He knows quality, and rarity, and his collection is deep in both. His book may be the best representation in toy photography available on the market.
It’s going to be a season’s greeting for collectors during the doll session with wax dolls, Papier Mache, Bisque, Parian, Wood, Mechanical, Teddy Bears and Doll Carriages all featured. In addition, there are nearly 100 Schoenhut examples, two extraordinary Carousel Horses, a magnificent and rare Coca-Cola Display sign featuring Sonia Henie, and of course, a mind bending assortment of early board games.
Mechanical banks are highlighted by the elusive Roller Skating Bank, which comes in very good condition, and joins company with Professor Pug Frog with original box. Still banks contain very special additions in that scarcely offered category. Examples include Field Cannon, Armored Car, City Bank, Alphabet, another in the ripe Apple examples, Honeycomb in yellow, and yet plenty of other surprises.
Expect an event that will certainly include much sought after examples of toys, from cast iron Hubley Crash Car in showroom condition to maybe the finest English Butcher Shop Display ever offered at public auction; from a one of a kind German Stoudt Lighthouse with Moat clockwork piece to a simply gorgeous Auburn Pedal Car.
