Highlights from one of the world’s largest toy train collections to be offered Sept. 24-26 by RM Classic Car Productions

YPSILANTI, Mich. - RM Classic Car Productions, along with Richard and Linda Kughn, are pleased to announce a third offering from the famed Madison Hardware Store in New York City, the world’s largest and oldest Lionel train dealer. More than 15 tractor-trailer loads of rare and desirable Lionel products were transferred from this historical New York hardware and hobby shop to the Kughns’ downtown Detroit storage building in the late 1980s.
The Sept. 24-26 auction, with real-time Internet bidding provided by www.liveauctioneers.com, features more than 1,600 lots of collectable toy and model trains, accessories and playsets from some of America’s premier toy makers, such as Lionel, American Flyer, Marx, Gilbert and others.

“This is a great opportunity to own a piece of Mr. Kughn’s amazing collection,” said RM founder Rob Myers. Many of the rarest items in the sale came directly from Richard Kughn’s private storage room known as “The Cage.”

Rare Pre- & Post-War Trains and Accessories - Hundreds of train engines, rolling stock and parts from Lionel, American Flyer, Ives, Williams, KMT, K-Line, ROW Industries and others.

Lionel Factory Prototypes – Large selection of one-of-a-kind pre-production prototype locomotives, freight and passenger cars and accessories direct from Lionel’s factory floor.

Collectible Train Sets - Hundreds of complete train sets and accessories in various gauges, most in their original packaging, from America’s legendary toy manufacturers Lionel and American Flyer. Also, a large selection of toy science kits and construction sets from 1940s/50s/60s.
The Madison Hardware Collection Part III will be held in conjunction with RM’s Michigan International Fall Classic Car Auction, featuring more than 400 classic, sports and muscle cars.
