10.5") A striking blue and white decorative plate issued in honor of the Hudson-Fulton Centennial Exhibition by Higgins & Seiten, New York. Depicting a variety of aircraft including lighter-than-air and dirigibles as well as an aeroplane, and ships within an ornate decorative border, this plate is both an antique and a rare piece of memorabilia. The 1929 Hudson-Fulton Centennial Exhibition was major doings here in the US in 1909 and helped put the United States and it's technology on the international stage at a time when the country was assuming its role as a leader of the world. Other than a glaze flaw at the lower right, the plate is in mint condition. Rare.
