Almost 90 years ago in 1913 Theodore Pappas I, set sail from Greece to America with $75.00 in His Pocket. Arriving in British Columbia a few years later, he evolved from a shoeshine & water boy during the construction of the Canadian Railway to own and operate one of the first trading posts in Canada. Pappas, who traded with the local native peoples would gather the fur and consign it to New York for auction on the international market. By 1940 he moved to Vancouver BC and established his own International Fur Auction Company, Which exists and operates to this day under directorship of his son, Theodore Pappas II. In 1979, an auction house company specializing in Native Arts & Artifacts as well as Fine Art & Antiques. In just over 20 years, West Coast Estates & Seahawk Auctions (Their Native Art Division) have become Western Canadas largest Native Art & Artifact Auction and continue to consistently offer high quality items to their clients from around North America.
