Weak Communication
My item was processed quickly and shipped just as fast. However, I sent three emails regarding an issue and never got a response but, one part of an email was acted upon. So, if you don't need to speak to them then you won't have any problems.

Be careful about the shipping
The auction lot description clearly stated in-house shipping was available on that lot. After the auction that was not honored, nor would the auction house respond to attempts to contact them about the matter. An outside mailing company was able to handle the lot-at a rather high premium. But, the issue is the inaccurate lot description and failure to respond to communications. This will be an auction house I avoid in the future.

I checked all of our incoming emails and did not see a request for a shipping quote. Sorry your request did not make it to us. You can always call us at ********** to request a shipping quote. Shipping is always at an additional cost and never included in the sale price.

The color is very important when I make a decision to buy an item.
The color of the wood has much more red tint, but not gold like on the pics. The chairs dont go well with my design. It is upsetting. On top of that When I wrote an email to show the difference between reality and the pics they posted nobody responded to me. It’s unattractive customer service. i feel very skeptical about their pic now.

Issues with items were kept hidden
Items were not as described; Piet Hein gorgeous puzzle pieces were broken, and some were glued together to make it easier to put them together. Horrible. Should have been disclosed in the written statement, as it was impossible to tell from the pictures. I will likely not buy from this house again.

WARNING! Proceed with caution!
Proceed with caution when dealing with this auction house. They sold me a reproduction, not an authentic item. I contacted them a couple of time to discuss the issue, but have received no response. 'Uniques and Antiques' is an unethical business.

They do not stand by their actions
i bought two antique clocks from them, where they wanted to be the shipper. They used secondhand materials, totally amateurish and worst of all, they shoved a ton of paper into the inside chamber of the clock and causing damage to it. I called them and told them my cost to repair the damage was $150. and most repair places charge $350. and up to repair clockworks. His reply was to send it back and have me lose money on the shipping, while he refunded the clock. I should not have to lose any money due to how the clock was mishandled during packaging. I do not expect any clock i buy here to be running, just not to be damaged BEYOND the description in the sale. If this were a third-party shipper, as UPS or Fedex. they would have stood behind the damage. This company is now off my auction list and should be from yours as well.

Sorry you are not happy with your antique clocks. We always sell clocks as non running. We do not use second hand bubble wrap or paper when shipping. You requested that we not use packing peanuts, which we obliged and used filler paper. We also double boxed the clocks. We often use recycled boxes. We know how to ship clocks and did not "shove a ton of paper" inside the chamber. Just enough to keep the pendulum from running. This clock and all of our clocks are sold as "not running". This was known before bidding. When you received the clock and it was not running, you now want us to pay for repair of the clock and threaten a bad review if we do not comply with your shakedown. We offered to refund your entire purchase price including packing and shipping to you. All you had to do was pay for shipping back. This was not acceptable to you. You were not interested in a return, only a payment for fixing the clock.

Great company to deal with
I have dealt with Uniques and Antiques for many auctions. Overall great service. Last auction, however, the weight of one item was incorrect so it cost a bundle to ship. The piece is fabulous and despite the added expense I am thrilled to own it.
