LA shows I won lot, Clarke says they're selling it to another bidder
Clarke auctioneers is saying that they're selling the lot to another bidder on Invaluable. Refused to apologize for the issue, and said that it's not their fault (instead blamed Live Auctioneers). This cannot be accurate, because only Clarke can close a lot on Live Auctioneers. Poor customer service, and I now have a level of distrust with this auction house (after having purchased artwork from them in the past).

Tea caddy listed as old. It was not!

This Caddy is 100 % an antique caddy. Can be viewed at lot # 283 in our April 7 sale. I will gladly refund you your monies if you return it as the under bidder who viewed it in person said he was sorry he did not get it. As a regular customer mabye you should have talked to a gallery owner.

One of their recommended shippers did quote a ridiculous high price, while another one did give an very economical price and even in that quote different options. the first shipper should be stripped of his recommendation by the auction house.

Was successful and called to see when I could pick item up happened to be a piece of jewelry. I was told I could pick up until 4. I arrived at 3:50 was met by Jewelery expert Ms Bria and she basically snarled we ‚ Ä ô re closed. Luckily a staff member took my payment and my property was released to me. I am a well regarded collector and have bought at Clarke several times. I was rather shocked at how rudely I was treated by the expert in charge.

Still waiting on getting the items from them and it has been over two weeks. Will not bid with the ever again. Also, the 25 % buyers premium is high and if you do a bid directly with them it is also 25 % and they make more money. Really not sure who would use them. Payment was difficult and they do not take credit cards. Where did you find them?

Clarke's Auction House was great. It's just always a bit discouraging when paying for shipping (from any auction house-not specifically this one).

They are very accommodating to me as I’m a out of state buyer. They have never made any issues with stuff being there till the shippers get it picked up. Love this place! Jd

Clarke went out of their way to make both the payment process and shipping difficult. Overall they were not helpful and sometimes downright rude. I would avoid them in the future.

I haven't received the painting yet because none of the three shipping concerns recommended to me by Clark Auction House followed up with me. One never ansered me; one said they would get back to me with a shipping ratre and never did, and one wanted to charge me well over $100 for a painting that was going to travel a rather short distance by UPS. It was much more expensive than other packing and shipping services for paintings provided by other auction houses.

Hello. I believe you already know about the situation I had with Clarke auction Gallery, which wasn't good. They had photos of an item in their auction listing that apparently was not part of the auction lot. I did not know that. I figured that anything in the pictures provided in the lot was part of the lot and I made my bid based on that. Now they say it was not part of the lot, so I have been trying to contact them in regards to the matter and have requested a refund on my buyers premium that I paid to them since they misrepresented the lot. After two emails they have chose not to respond as of yet. It's like ordering a fully loaded mustang only to have it delivered and missing the sunroof, chrome package and bigger engine and the company saying sorry for the mistake but we aren't going to refund you any money or reorder you a new car. Now I know why they do not accept credit card as payment. If I had been allowed to pay by credit card I would have made request for partial reimbursement for misrepresentation of the auction lot and not getting everything pictured. I enjoy using liveauctioneers and have used you a number of times in the past without issue and I will continue to use your service regardless of the outcome of this particular failure.
