Here is the rest of the story. Our terms are that all invoices are due within 3 business days of each auction, so we can clear the hall and pay our consignors. This bidder was sent 12 invoices without reply. She was placed in dispute with Live Auctioneers. She was also placed in dispute with 4 other auctions due to non-payment. She has been blocked from bidding in future auctions. This is not about a message. This is about a bidder that should not be approved by any auctioneer in the future. We appreciate our bidders greatly and regret that people like this abuse the terms and conditions.

Not true. These items were extremely clean with no hair when shipped. We have no cat (I am allergic to cats) and the consignor did not have a cat and had a spotless home.

Source of Excellent Collectibles
I have purchased several items from Orange County Estate Liquidators, books and pictures, that are very relevant to my historical collecting interests. The books are rare and the pictures are both very hard to find but very applicable to historical events I have researched in detail. Orange County Estate Liquidators answered my concerns about a shipment by explaining the understandable virus quarantine restraints the company labored under. They also gave me a very welcome credit that I was able to apply to further purchases. I will continue to follow the company's auctions.

$14.85 to mail 1 book shipped Media Mail for $5.58
Shipping costs are the bane of on-line auctions, that's pretty much a given, but $14.85 to put a book in an envelop and then send it the cheapest way possible at an actual cost of $5.58 (at least don't show the cost of shipping on the label) so a profit of $9.97 just to mail one book under 2-pounds. Here's the exact condition they said of the book: Condition Report Spine wear and small chip lower left corner of cover. Text block tight. Good Plus. GOOD PLUS... I sell books all over the country and wouldn't list a book "Good Plus" when in fact the front cover slid off the book as soon as I took it out of the economy bubble mailer they sent it in. Had a client in England interested in it but won't even think of offering it to him, will list it cheap on ebay if no sales 2 times around will toss it. Waste of time, waste of money. Someone out there needs to get a handle on shipping costs of these auctions, I'll give them the book "may" have been damaged in shipping, but the cost to ship, nuts.

You did not add the cost of packing supplies, and the packer actually has to be paid. You also had the option to select your own shipper. $14.85 is far below any shipper we know of and the vast amount of auctioneers on Live Auctioneers that we know of. The book was good plus. The cover was attached and if you look at the auction photos, you will see that. We have been in the book business for over 50 years and we stand by each one of our descriptions.

Need Written Description
The photo did not show the incredibility poor condition of the framing. A written description saying "The matting has extensive staining and will need to be replaced." would have been much more helpful than the six photos. It is going to cost me an additional $100 to have the matting replaced so I am a bit disappointed that between the buyers premium, the shipping and the repair that I am paying almost 3 times the amount that I bid.

After contacting the bidder, he stated there was NO DAMAGE to the frame. He said there were stains on the matting. They were light, but there and we missed them. All customers can request a condition report and I am sure that we would have caught this on a second look. The matting will probably cost less than $25 not $100. We have offered the customer free shipping on the next auction as a way to express our missing this in the description.

Shipping Gouging
Bidders-take into account a single option for shipping at exorbitant rates. Their rate was three times fair market shipping costs. I contacted them to try to use other options, and Jerri was uncooperative to the point of lying to me about how far a FedEx drop-off was from their location. What company can't integrate a FedEx drop off without a fee? I checked it on the map. She said it was twice as far as it actually was. I finally caved and accepted their shipping fee because at that point it was either their ripoff cost or withdraw, which I wish I had done after I received the item in a condition not shown by a picture. She says there are other shipping options, but there really isn't any in that area. Most shipping options around auction houses are just as mercenary as this place was. Delivery then took nearly 3 weeks, which had to be prompted by a phone call. Also, beware of the item pictures and descriptions. There was only one picture, and the item actually had severe discoloration in a major area that any fair seller would have noted. Overall, a really bad experience, enough to cause me to stop using LiveAuctioneers, after quite a few purchases without anything like this aggravation and deceit. Looking at reviews, I see Orange Liquidators responds regularly. I have no motivation to write this except to warn bidders, it's all the truth no matter what twisted story Jerri writes. These days I'm glad to be using ebay and other responsible, cooperative venues, that actually have bidder protections.

THIS WAS A FAKE REVIEW. Here is “THE REST OF THE STORY” We are being accused of Gouging Bidders on shipping. Total charge for the shipping of a heavy Marble Clock was $27.85. This included packing, shipping and postage. Normally, we always beat outside shippers. The customer states we Gouged him 3 TIMES fair shipping cost. This would mean that he expected us to ship a Marble Clock, pack it, transport it and pay shipping for $9.28. We tell the customer on every invoice “We provide packing & shipping on selected items as a added service to our customers. You are not obligated to have us complete your shipping & we will provide a alternate shipper upon request and remove shipping charges.” The customer then wanted us to make a FedEx drop-off. We normally do not, but we told him we would do this for $10. The closest Fedex is 16 miles from our auction, so the round trip is 32 miles. The customer wanted us to do this for free. We informed him that would cost $14.85 to pack. So the total would be $24.85 so not much of a savings. Customer accuses us of lying about the mileage. The drop-off is in Middletown BUT it is on the far side of Middletown. The exact distance was correctly stated at 16 miles. Now the customer asked for other shippers. We gave this to him and he called them Mercenary when he found out the shipping price. So now let’s look at the description. There was no discoloration. This WAS SIMPLY NOT TRUE. Shipping speed. We shipped this to him within 2 weeks and in the middle of numerous obstacles due to Covid-19. Now let me finish to say that the customer sent numerous emails demanding we do things and threatened to basically cause damage to our company. Thus, this review. NOW IT IS TIME FOR YOUR REVIEW. I think we did quite well but what do you think? While rare it is disappointing to try to do everything possible for our customers and provide great customer service and then have someone make up a fake review. Let us know what you think

I had it delivered by the USPS to our caretakers apartment, while we were away. When we did this recently It worked well, not so this time. Usually I had my caretaker’s name on the package but this time just mine with his apartment number. He didn’t receive it nor did me. Since it was successfully delivered to the mailroom it was considered delivered. It was my fault and I have learned an expensive lesson. Just because it works once does not mean it will work every time. Trust the Post Office. It does save money in the long run.
