Pat this was an engraving. We recommended that you go to any museum or bookseller and ask them for their opinion. It was a very rare engraving. We have been in the book and print business for over 50 years and certainly know what we are doing. We called you and emailed you multiple times to discuss this and you refused to answer. We always provide the best customer service, but in this case, we can do no more.

Positive personal attention but surprise costs
I had inadvertently provided an incorrect zip code and, once shipped, the problem surfaced. I was given a personal call to inform me of, and correct the problem. I was so grateful for that personal attention. The payment situation was a shock to me. This was my first experience in bidding. After I won, I found out about the "bid premium" charge, or something like that, and the shipping cost was about $21-for a paperback book. In the end, my $20 item costs DOUBLE. Buyer beware. If this was a retail or Amazon purchase I would have found that information out before checking out. But, once you've "won" the bid, you're committed. As I said, this was my first auction and I was clueless. Likely, my last.

Watch for unreasonable shipping
I bought a 30 page book. The shipping and handling fees were almost $25. I tried to contact alternative services but they never replied. So, to not blemish my record, I paid. The actual shipping was $5. So I guess it cost them $20 to put it in an envelope.

Unfortunately, lots do not pack themselves. We pay personal to pack, pay for shipping supplies and space to ship items and transport to the shipping service. We take every measure to pack and ship all lots correctly and as quickly as possible. Our shipping terms are clear that the minimum charge for shipping a book is $20. We combine all orders when possible. You agreed to these terms when you signed up for bidding privileges.

We answer each communication as soon as we can. You always have the option to use your own shipper. I doubt you could find any that would send it for less. If you buy more than one lot, we always try to combine.

Actually, we have no idea what you are talking about. Anyone can pickup winning lots upon request and we never tell anyone they can't. You live in Los Angeles, CA and we are in New York. Also we never ever tell anyone they cannot pay through the Live invoice system. Your comments are simply not true. During the first part of 2019, we have noted that you have two disputes filed against you for non-payment by other auctioneers.

We do regret the current costs of postage and handling. We try to keep the price down but we must pay personal and shipping supplies as well as the increases of postage. It is much less expensive if we can combine shipments of multiple purchases which we always try to do. Thank you so much for your patronage.

Autograph book had certain pages razor cut out. My experience finds usually someone has cut out any autographs that might be of value.

We did not notice any pages cut out or it would have been noted. As we deal with thousands of estate items, we cannot note every imperfection. You can and should ask for a condition report on any item you are interested in. We are always glad to provide these.

I have not received my item. I paid $24.50 to ship a book which could have easily been shipped flat rate USPS for half that. I requested shipping info which you failed to provide, nor did you respond to my request for a refund. I have contacted LiveAuctioneers support to dispute and expect to be refunded in full.

That is incorrect. We did respond. This book was lost by the United States Postal Service. You were promptly refunded in full including postage and shipping. We regret that we cannot control the loss of packages by any carrier.

Won a softback book-price with BP was $12.50-Handling/shipping which auction does billed us $25.40 when media mail is $3.68. We paid the $12.50 invoice and refused to pay the greedy shipping costs and let them keep the book.

Shipping includes packing, labor, and taking to the appropriate mailer. You are always free to provide your own shipper and we always work with outside shippers. We provide shipping as a courtesy to our clients only if they desire. You only bought one book. We always try to combine orders which brings the overall cost way down.

They won ‚ Ä ô t let me pick up my purchased items.... whenever I ‚ Ä ô m available to drive the 3 hours there, unfortunately they will not meet me so I can get my stuff. I really don ‚ Ä ô t know what to do at this point.? Call my credit card company and start a claim?

You made an appointment to pick up your items and never came. That held one of our workers in our hall when we were working outside on another estate. You could have made another appointment but never did. If you wish to call us, we will be pleased to ship your item to you.
