Expensive Jewelry on the Internet
The Papps jewelry from the auction appeared expensive on the listing but some of the packaging per item wasn’t quality’s shipped. Two $100 necklaces were just wrapped together in bubble wrap instead of each being in an individual box to be given as a present. The other 4 items were all boxed including a silver dollar but not my necklaces. I had to contact them to get the order and it did ship after a second call. Know ahead of time about the packaging and shipping. They did a good job with the ring sizing me me.

Is the estimated price is accurate? Items show much larger than actual size.
I think the estimated price quoted is much higher than it should be. The sapphire ring looked like a $10 ring from store. The necklace was great and two tone diamond was not impressive. My jeweler had a similar ring which I cold buy almost same price as I bid. It took much longer to receive my items as I expected.

I didn't receive all my items and was not told why
I bought two diamond items from Papps and asked for them to them to be shipped within the US which they told me was done. I received only one of my items and then received an auto response saying I had been refunded for the other. But Papps did not notify me that they were retaining my purchase. When I asked where my second item was they told me it had been shipped when it clearly had not. I was panicing thinking it had been stolen. I then asked again about the refund and was then told they had NOT sent the second item because it did not pass their quality control. Why are Papps putting up items for auction that are below quality? Surely they should do their quality control before sending the item to auction? Why did they not inform me immediately and apologetically that my second item had not been shipped and why? Why did it need me to chase them-this is poor customer service on some high cost merchansie. This was my first ever auction experience and it was not very encouraging I have to say. I don't think i will use Papps again. THey have subsequntly apologised and offered to make alternative suggestions but as I had to be the proactive one and point out their mistake, I would be wary about purchasing high value items from them in future.

Shipping costs are too high
I purchased a diamond solitaire ring at one of their auctions. The shipping cost from their location to New York was $39.99 which I felt was excessive. Their information re: shipping states the rates are based on item value, which can vary greatly. Other auctions I bid on have flat rates for jewelry which are clearly stated. Usually a ring will ship for $9.95 which seems reasonable. William B.

Had to call and ask where my items were. They said they just happened to ship the same day I contacted them two weeks later then what they claimed it would ship. They did protect product well.

Limitations on ring sizes
I paid over $1000 fo a man’s ring. The description of the jewelry DID NOT mention that the maximum size available is a size 9. I am not an unusually large person (6 ’ 200 lbs); my ring size is 11.5. If I had known the seller’s size limitations for that piece of jewelry, I never would have bid. The ring is useless to me.
