Potter and Potter were absolutely superb. I went in for a viewing and Brian and Aron gave me the complete rundown of the entire history of this piece, including cool past awards. They were also careful to point out fragile spots and hidden compartments. They were so genuinely happy to show this art and explain everything. They personally helped me pack it to get it home (it's complex and fragile), and gave me good advice on preservation. Cannot recommend enough.

GREAT AUCTION HOUSE

Potter and Potter auction house did not fully disclose in its listing that this was a miniature book. Instead, it used an abbreviation only known to miniature book collectors. Also, the photos with the listing made the book appear to be typically sized. The listing could've described the item as a "miniature book," but since it didn't, I feel it was deceptive. Still awaiting my refund from Potter and Potter and LiveAuctioneers. Rip-off! Avoid.

Everything I purchased arrived SUPER securely packaged and well within the timelines laid out by the auction description. I'm impressed and will watch their future auctions with interest.

As someone who admires Howard Finster's work, I was surprised that the piece I was bidding on didn't have a base. I wanted the piece for very sentimental reasons, so disregarded this fact and bid any way. And to be clear, I wouldn't trade it for the world! However, it's important others know my experience so they can be mindful when bidding in general. There was mention in the description of a crack in the plywood, which I was fine with, but nothing else stood out as being out of the ordinary. Specifically, the description stated, "Stress crack (1”) lower left; slight nicks along bottom edge and a few surface abrasions." When I received the piece I discovered there were two holes in the bottom where the base had previously been attached. My best guess is that the base had been nailed on-sometimes Finster used wood screws to attach the bases-and at some time it fell off or had been removed because of damage. Regardless, the base was missing, and that's fine too to some extent, but it wasn't depicted that way in the description. This leads me to conclude these sellers were not generally knowledgeable about Mr. Finster's work because the damage along the bottom side of the piece would have been called out as likely due to the base being removed. Again, I would've bought it regardless, but I should've asked questions, and that's on me. Communication was easy, shipping was a bit slow (the hand off to the carrier, not the carrier themselves, but this was over Christmas so that's somewhat understandable), packing was top notch. Very, very well packed with recycled materials which I appreciated.

Purchased a limited edition print. With no notification that print would be shipped rolled up it was my belief it would be mounted. Not mounted. Disappointed.

I am thoroughly delighted with my purchase from Potter & Potter! They made it very simple, and entirely pleasant. This is a terrific auction house!
