Stay away from Potter and Potter auction. They take weeks to post items or they do not at all. Very quick to take the money of course.

Worst Ever! I’ve bought tons of stuff from these folks and never had a problem. The 1 time I do, they call me a liar! Neither Brian nor the President would accept responsibility for selling me a broken item. Said it worked when it left. Which is impossible because there are internal parts broken. This had nothing to do with shipping. Offered me free shipping on next item I buy from them! When pigs fly! All I know is this. Attend the auction in person and inspect the item. Because if you don’t and it’s broken. Now this is Brian’s words “our items are sold as is”. Unbelievable! Terrible customer service & complete disregard for honesty! I will NEVER buy from these crooks again! And before one of their cronies says anything. I’ve got 1 last thing. I’ve been buying at online auctions for over 20 years! This is the first time I’ve been treated this way! And probably only the 3rd time I’ve even had an issue. That’s 1000’s of items. 3 problems, and 1 Auction house that said. “We do NOT Care! Have purchased from this auction house on multiple occasions, and every transaction has be superb.

I purchased an Avalon Ballroom poster purported to be a first printing. Upon receiving it, I found it was a second printing. I pointed it out to the seller including reference links to how to tell the difference, and the seller agreed that it was not a first print, but a second (they were using very old info to determine which printing it was, and I don't believe they intentionally mislabeled it). They agreed to take the item back and void the credit card charge. First they wanted me to pay to ship it back, then upon request, they sent a pre-paid mailing label. I have confirmation that the item was received by them on 2/23/22, but as of 3/3 they had not removed the charge. I contacted them again on 3/4 and was told a check would be mailed on 3/7. No check received as of 3/21, so I contacted them again, was told the accountant was out sick. As of 3/28, no check still received or update, so I disputed the charge. They write nice, understanding, agreeable emails, but there is no action, I've become convinced that they are just dragging the process out until the customer is too tired to continue. I have at least 4 hours of my own time and energy in on just trying to get back my money from a wrongly listed item, they should be paying me for that along with the fake poster. My suggestion is to use a credit card if you do business with them so that you can dispute it if you have a problem.

I strongly recommend Potter & Potter for their seriousness. I love their their book which include all the details of their auction.

I recently won an item in a Potter and Potter auction. The invoice process was very smooth and my item arrived when promised. It was packed extremely well to protect in shipping.

Great process and auction house! Good description, VERY prompt in answering questions, shipping was reasonable and fast (except for UPS who managed to ship it back and forth between the main and local distribution center five times in five days). Payment process was also very easy. Highly recommend Potter & Potter.... I'll be tracking their future auctions!

I recently purchased two vintage photographs from Potter and Potter Auctions. Before the auction communication was excellent. I had questions regarding the authenticity and condition of the photos and every question was answered quickly. One photo specifically I had questions on the provenance and upon review of their records the auction house pulled the image from the auction because they could not authenticate the provenance. I felt that reflected the company's integrity. At auction, I won the two of the images I was bidding on. I sent a quick note to Potter and Potter to let them know I wanted to make payment and Brian Mainassy was the customer service representative I worked with, he was very responsive and polite. Invoicing and post sale communication were also prompt. My items were shipped to me at a reasonable cost. Upon receipt of my photographs, one of the images was damaged during shipping. I emailed Brian back and let him know and he responded quickly asking me to assess how the damage affected the value. Brian responded favorably to my assessment and I was issued a refund that reflected the loss of value. The item I received was damaged, the customer care that I received was exemplary. I would not hesitate to do business with this auction house again, their integrity was impeccable.

They chose to show only the perfect items on website. Several others were in very poor condition. None were showm, none were mentioned in description. The price was OK, so I'll keep. But be advised.
