European ceramics and decorative works of art

Please note that we are offering additional lots exclusively available on our website. These are not part of the live hammer sale, and are therefore not available here on LiveAuctioneers. This auction features another landmark collection of Dutch Delftware, including an example of the most iconic "sample plate" depicting the wares of a Delftware merchant in blue and white on a yellow ground. A pair of English Delftware plaques, a pair of large Antwerp maiolica drug jars, a pair of Delft tureens modelled as grapes as well as many other star lots make this auction on not to miss for any ceramics enthusiasts worldwide. However, also when it comes to French faience, with an attractive collection of Strasbourg and Les Islettes pieces, the ceramics aficioniado is served at his best in this catalogue. Brussels faience, a large selection of antique Dutch Delft tiles, Italian maiolica, Spanish pottery and tiles, it's all there. With special attention for 20th C. ceramics, most notably from the regional workshops of Perignem and Amphora, but also for Charles Catteau for Boch Kéramis. Turning our eye to the decorative arts section, we see an important role for Belgian masters of the late 19th and 20th C. with both originals and multiples. Fine early silver and sculpture, medieval works of art and bronze wares, complete the catalogue!
