Abell Auction Co. will conduct a fine art, antiques and jewelry auction beginning at 10 am Sunday, February 11th, 2018. This auction will be highlighted by the Estate of Stanley & Betty Warner Sheinbaum, prominent Los Angeles activists who dedicated their lives to bettering society. Mrs. Warner Sheinbaum was the daughter of Henry Warner (of Warner Bros,) and a prolific artist in her own right. She exhibited at multiple galleries throughout her lifetime, and was friends with many of the artists she collected. The Sheinbaums often hosted other advocates of the day like Barbra Streisand, Norman Lear, Edward Kennedy, and Bill and Hillary Clinton at their art-filled Los Angeles home. Highlights of the Sheinbaum collection include an Arthur Espenet Carpenter desk and return, and fine art by Edmondo Bacci, Pu Ru, Russell Cowles, Ynez Johnston, Mario Prassinos and Dennis Eugene Norman Burton. The auction also features a large round malachite salon table, a pair of Maison Boudet French gilt bronze and marble five-light candelabra, and a pair of large painted and giltwood French trumeaux. Fine art includes pieces signed Edouard Cortes, Harriet Goodhue Hosner, George Inness, Henri Charles Manguin, Edmund Osthaus and Maurice Vlaminck. Abell will also offer three Steinway grand pianos; lithographs by Charles Arnoldi, Marc Chagall, Albrecht Dürer, David Hockney, Joan Miro, Edvard Munch, Pablo Picasso, Man Ray and Rufino Tamayo; a Gorham sterling epergne; Georg Jensen ?Acorn? and ?Parallel? flatware services; and much more. Fine estate jewelry includes a Raymond Yard diamond, platinum and cat?s eye chrysoberyl brooch; a 7-carat diamond engagement ring; a 5-carat ruby ring; and much more.
