The Written Word Autographs - SPRING Auction

Our first session on Saturday, May 19th will include a large offering of personal correspondence from the French Chef, Julia Child, including valentine cards from she and her husband, Paul. Signed books, including a first edition signed by Civil Rights activist W. E. B. DuBois. Our usual large group of U. S. Presidential material including a letter from James Madison to Thomas Jefferson. Signers, Founding Fathers and patriots are included in our Early America material. An impressive array of Military signatures including the battle report from the Sayler?s Creek, the last major battle of the Civil War, prepared and signed by General Oliver Edwards, who received the Medal of Honor for his action during the battle. Also framed photographs which were presented to Major General Robert Sprague Beightler by his colleges MacArthur, Marshall, Clark, Bradley and Halsey. A large selection of signed financial documents with stocks and bonds signed by John D. Rockefeller, J. P. Morgan, Jay Cooke, president Millard Fillmore, J. Paul Getty and more. We will be selling a Naval Aviation poster signed by ?Moonwalkers? Neil Armstrong, Alan Shepard, Pete Conrad and Gene Cernan, shuttle crews, astronauts and a unique ?First Flights? piece that contains aviation relics including fabric from the Wright Brothers airplane. Session II on Sunday, May 20th will offer Entertainers and Sports, over 600 lots, includes signed photographs of Marlon Brando, Thelma Todd, Orsen Welles, Elizabeth Taylor, a large group of signed lobby cards, a remarkable signed photograph of Frank Sinatra, inscribed to a dying fan, The Beatles, ?The Boss?, The Eagles, The Rolling Stones, U2 and a wide array of material from every genre. We are selling signed baseballs, books, photographs and memorabilia from Sports luminaries as well.
