Unreserved Spring Estate Auction

Hudson Valley has scheduled a fine early spring auction for Monday April 16th, the sale includes several partial estate contents from Dutchess and Westchester Counties, New Jersey and environs and will be offered in two sessions. Session One offers online bidding with Liveauctioneers.com and begins with several lots of Several Japanese woodblocks, silver cloisonné vases, mixed metal bronze insect chargers, a framed Mandarin rank badge and some early vases, rosewood Chinese furniture, porcelain, wood carvings artwork and lamps from a Scarsdale estate might yield a few surprises. Garden items are highlighted by a rare monumental pair of Greek Revival style planter urns in original condition from an old New Jersey estate. A six piece wrought iron dining set, an antique cast iron birdbath and other Victorian and 20th century iron from the New Rochelle landscape round things out. Art includes a John Marin graphite study dated 1951, art deco nude portrait by Chester La Follett, oils by Albert S. Nemethy, a pencil signed Calder, lithos by Ronald Searle, Robert Hoppe, George Stavrinos and Darrel Greene illustrations and life drawings among many others. Mid Century includes George Nelson, Paul McCobb breakfront, Mae West ?Lips? sofa, Fredrickia , Maurizio Tempestini table lamp, Laurel pendant chandelier, Saarinen dining table set, Raymond Loewy for Mengel desk, a pair Dorothy Draper style Hollywood dressers and a James Rosen Pace Collection media cabinet. Early Louis Vuitton steamer trunk , early Goyard steamer, a Martin guitar and an inlaid shaving stand, several barristers, numerous Victorian display cabinets, a raised panel oak roll top desk, a woodworking bench and flint artifacts found in northern New Jersey to be offered in groups.
