The sale has a broad and diverse group of works that span from the 17th century through modern day. There is a spectacular offering of Self-Taught and Outsider Art being sold from the NAMITS Collection. This group is wonderfully expressive, visually stimulating and reflective of the artists that created it. Works by Thorton Dial, Purvis Young, Jimmy Lee Sudduth, Harriet Wiseman and Justin McCarthy can all be found in the sale. Another consignor is offering a trio of delightful Wilson Irvine paintings which offer impressionistic views of Lyme, Connecticut, a New Orleans courtyard and a harbor scene. The light dances off the canvases and the paintings have a way of inviting and drawing the viewer right into the scene.
