Dargate Auction Galleries is pleased to present the collection of Marilyn Sullivan Bonatti, better known at the “Kensington Ware Lady”. She is recognized as an authority on aluminum products, especially those associated with Alcoa (Aluminum Company of America). Her collection, amassed since 1963 includes not only all aspects of Kensington Ware but also works by Alcoa’s other commercial subsidiaries including Wear Ever Aluminum products, Nancy Prentiss glassware and Westmoreland silver. Her extensive collection of Kensington Ware products range from rare early works designed by Lurelle Guild in the 1930s to later production pieces of Kensington Ware Traditional and Kensington Moire giftware. Her collection includes one of a kind objects made for Alcoa executives, books related to aluminum, and rare and unusual memorabilia produced in aluminum. Her collection has been exhibited extensively in such places as the Carnegie Institute Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, California State University in Northridge, the Carnegie Museum in Oxnard, California and many National Aluminum Collectors shows. Her collection has been highlighted as a “super collector” on Personal FX, the Fox Network in New York City in 1997.
