The Estate of Miriam Colon Part 1 & Others

On June 2nd, Auctions at Showplace will present the first of two auctions featuring items from the estate of celebrated actor, Miriam Colón. Born in Puerto Rico, Colón moved to New York in 1953 to attend the prestigious, Actor's Studio. Highlights of her decorated career include starring as the mother of Al Pacino's Tony Montana in the 1983 movie Scarface, playing the title role in the 2013 movie Bless Me, Ultima, and founding the Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre Company in New York City. In 2014, she received the National Medal of Arts from President Barack Obama for her lifetime achievements and helping to cultivate opportunities for fellow Hispanic actors.
