This catalog presents a select arrangement of rare, antique and decorative books. Featured is a private library of aviation history titles, along with a medley of fine binding Easton Press volumes. Additional offerings include author signatures, modern firsts and Americana. Antique and rare books are numerous in this catalog. Among the earliest examples are the very rare 1683 first edition of Corsetto?s ?Lodronii Leonis Vetustatis ac Virtutis Inclytae Monumenta,? bound in vellum, ?Alle de Wercken van den Heere Jacob Cats,? produced in folio format in 1712, and the 1781 printing of Raynal?s ?Histoire Philosophique et Politique Deux Indes,? published in ten volumes. Additional desirable finds include Bell?s ?System of Geography,? produced in twelve volumes with engraved folding maps and plates over the years 1839 to 1840, a signed 1874 signed first edition of Armstrong?s travelogue, ?A Visit to Egypt in 1872,? and two massive 18th century Dutch Bibles. Several private collections will be showcased. Featured is a range of vintage and antique volumes covering early aviation, originating from the personal library of a pioneering female aviator from Upstate New York. We will also offer a sampling from a large personal library of a retired Eastern Orthodox Church priest. Another private library presents a range of works relating to the history of socialism, communism, labor and capitalism, including a very rare title by Alan Greenspan?s father, who worked as a stock broker through the market crash of 1929. Antique atlases are led by examples such as the rare 1886 elephant folio of ?Bradley?s Atlas of the World for Commercial and Library Reference.? Found throughout this catalog are other decorative antique bindings and categories such as the American West, Native American Indians, travel & exploration, railroads, Civil War, books-on-books, medical, rare fiction, limited editions, signed copies, history, literature, military history, theology and more.
