Mars and Neptune Trust Sale

An outstanding assemblage of museum-quality, early martial arms, militaria, artwork, prints, manuscripts and rare books, especially those to Colonial and Revolutionary America, the War of 1812, the Napoleonic wars, and the independence movements in Latin America during the 1st half of the 19th century. The sale features many items deaccessioned from the collections of the Society of the Cincinnati, the Fort Ligonier Association, and other institutions to benefit their collections programs, as well as choice consignments from important private collections. Correspondence, memorabilia and portraiture of such notables as George Washington, John Hancock, Artemas Ward, William Henry Harrison, Andrew Jackson and other patriots and founding fathers/mothers are well represented. Arms and militaria include martial rifles, muskets, uniforms, accoutrements and insignia, 1750-1850, as well as an impressive assemblage of artillery related objects, including rare cannon.
