Leighton Galleries' April 2nd auction will feature a large collection of Chinese arts from a Ridgewood, New Jersey estate. Included will be furniture, ivory, bronzes, decorations and textiles. Leighton was commissioned to sell the personal property of Clara Mills, whose husband's father was among the first Standard Oil executives to do business in China back in the early 20th century. The sale will also include the usual fine collection of artworks, estate jewelry, silver, porcelains, furniture and upper end collectibles. 300 fresh to the market, fine quality lots will be offered to the highest bidder without reserve or minimum. The auction is scheduled for Thursday, April 2nd at 6pm. It will be held at the Knights of Columbus Banquet Hall at 79 Pascack Road, Washington Township (Bergen County), New Jersey. Previews are scheduled for Wednesday, April 1st from 3-8pm, and on Thursday April 2nd from 1-5pm. You are strongly encouraged to attend the preview and inspect the items.
