WAAM Benefit Art Auction: Paper Unframed

The Woodstock Artists Association & Museum (WAAM) is pleased to announce Paper Unframed an upcoming Benefit Art Auction of over 100 works of art by distinguished artists of the Hudson Valley/Catskills Region to support the museum's art and art education programs this year. The sale of the artist-donated works will launch online on May 15 and run through June 6, accompanied by a live viewing of the work June 4, 5, and 6, at 28 Tinker St. Woodstock, NY. The list of participating artists includes longtime member artists, like Yale Epstein, Ginnie Gardiner and Carole Kunstadt, as well as recently exhibited artists, such as Tania Kravath and Mimi Young. Work from several late iconic Woodstock artists, including a charming print by Andrée Ruellan called Dog Circus will be on sale as well. Pairs of works by Maxine Davidowitz, Betsy Regan, and Hattie Iles are sure to be highlights of the event. The Benefit Art Auction is WAAM's first major fundraiser since the pandemic shutdown and the goal is to raise a significant amount of money for the one hundred-year old art institution. Though WAAM incurred a loss of annual revenue in 2020, the Board and Executive Director feel that with a return to normal on the horizon, the museum is on a good path forward towards growth and sustainability. Nicole Goldberg, Executive Director, said, "I am humbled by the generosity of the many local artists who have donated to this Benefit Art Auction. Their contributions are a testament to the importance of this organization and the desire of an entire community of artists to see the WAAM emerge out of this pandemic stronger than ever. The work of art in this sale is some of the best I have ever seen in my career as Development Director who has organized many benefit art auctions. I have my eye on several pieces myself!"
