Doyle at Home including Asian Art & Pens

The Doyle at Home auction on April 6 at 10am(est) will offer a broad range of property representing a number of prominent collections and estates. The sale showcases an array of quality American, English and Continental furnishings and art with moderate pre-sale estimates. Special sections of the auction will feature DECORATIVE ASIAN ART and the ALFRED COSSIDENTE COLLECTION OF FINE PENS. Among the featured FURNITURE AND DECORATIONS are a Biedermeier mahogany game table (lot 2714), an Alvin sterling silver tea and coffee service (lot 2602), and a Regence style gilt-metal mounted tortoise shell mantle clock (lot 2500). Also featured is a large group of stylish upholstered furniture from an elegant home in Southampton, NY. Among the selection of FINE ART is Andre Gisson’s “Reflections on the Sand” (lot 2021), Lawrence Beall Smith’s “Three Skipping Rope” (lot 2043), and Louis Michel Eilshemius’ “Solitude” (lot 2016). The Cossidente Collection of FINE PENS offers over 550 writing instruments chronicling the evolution of pens and mechanical pencils from the late 1800s through the 1950s, and features examples by Parker, Scheaffer, Waterman, Wahl-Eversharp, Conklin and others. Highlights include a Conklin Nozac pen and pencil set in original box (lot 2258), as well as numerous examples of the Parker Jack Knife Safety, Junior and Senior Lucky Curve, Vacumatic, Duofold and 51 pens; Scheaffer Lifetime pens; Eversharp Skyline pens; and Waterman pens, including Patrician; as well as many pierced sterling silver and gold filled overlay pens, assorted pen and pencil sets, and over 50 elegant desk pen stands.
