End of Summer Sale

The Doyle New York's Annual End of Summer auction on Thursday, August 25 at 10am (edt) will offer a broad range of property with moderate pre-sale estimates including a large selection of French, English, Biedermeier and country pine furniture, silver, numerous porcelain and glass decorations, prints, paintings, bindings, lamps, chandeliers, sconces, mirrors and rugs. A Stickley desk and swivel chair (lot 524) and a Biedermeier walnut slant front desk by Lajos Kosma (lot 528) highlight a large group of desks, chairs, dining tables and small occasional tables. A selection of screens will be offered, including a large Indian style sandlewood screen (lot 244). Several lots of silver plate will be featured, including 3 oversized, ornate candelabra (lot 363). A number of large dinner services will be offered including a Rosenthal service in the Bavaria pattern (lot 318). A bronze figure stamped Bergman (lot 436) highlights the decorative arts to be offered. An assortment of group lots of games (373), dolls and toys (lot 154), musical instruments (213) and linens (420) will also be offered. The rug session includes a Kirman carpet (lot 552). The fine art includes a work by Albert Schroeder, Emerson Inn, Pigeon Cove, oil on masonite, (lot 62) and a wide selection of prints, including botanicals by Sir John Hill, Flower Studies, (lot 94).
