The Collection of Andre Leon Talley: Online

This February, Christie's is proud to present the collection of the legendary fashion editor André Leon Talley. As the first Black man to hold the title Creative Director of American Vogue, Mr. Talley held a rarefied status in the fashion industry. His discerning taste extended well beyond fashion and his personal collection encompasses haute couture, handbags, jewelry, fine art, literature and decorative arts. The Collection of André Leon Talley: Online features a selection of iconic clothing, personalized handbags and a selection of memorabilia. The sale features a custom Pink Crocodile Coat by Prada, a personalized Rough H Calf Box Leather Hac Birkin 60 with Gold Hardware from Hermes and A Green, White, and Tan Printed Cotton Caftan by close personal friend Diane von Furstenberg. As a whole, the collection reflects Mr. Talley's decades-long relationships with iconic designers, including many lots given to him by Karl Lagerfeld, Tom Ford, Ralph Rucci, and more. Proceeds from the live and online auctions will benefit the Abyssinian Baptist Church in New York and Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Durham, North Carolina; both of which were close to Mr. Talley's heart. IMPORTANT NOTICE Collection of property and shipping property to and from certain destinations is currently being impacted by the Coronavirus. Collection or shipment of your purchase will commence when circumstances permit. Quotes issued and expected delivery dates may be subject to change and there may be delays to the fulfilment of your shipment. Christie's is monitoring the situation and will keep you informed should circumstances relating to your quote and/or shipment change. .
