333 Auctions General and Estate Sale

An auction house is privileged to carry such pieces as those offered from the life collection of importer Lucy Maxym. She has the finest collection of master-painted Russian lacquer boxes to ever come to auction. 333 Auctions will offer 100 lots from this collection, as well as Russian silver, enamel, and icons, including an inkstand, c. 1865, by Sazikov, one of the first of the great Russian Master Gold and Silversmiths. Early icons being offered include an important, monumental 19th century Russian icon with elaborate gilt metal and enamel riza depicting the Virgin of Vladimir.

A not-to-be-missed second session features 100 lots of contemporary art from a major corporate collection acquired in the1980's - sold totally unreserved - including large format prints, canvases, sculptural paper, mixed media, and sculpture, all professionally framed in appropriate mounts.

This sale also proudly features many fine pieces of Americana including a set of six New England painted and smoke decorated chairs; several pristine quilts; a private collection are over 30 stoneware crocks, most with New Jersey maker's marks; and slip-decorated Pennsylvania redware of interesting form. Over 100 pieces of Victorian Majolica from a private collection are for sale including designs by Minton, George Jones, Wedgwood and Etruscan. Several antique rugs from a single owner and many 19th century scenic paintings will also be up for auction. Fine art includes a framed Earnest Lawson signed landscape and a still life by A. C. Wooster, dated 1901, and works by Dorothy Bissell, Princeton artist. Also included are 20th century ceramics with Picasso for Medoura, Imari and Chinese Export. Other lots include a good selection of furniture with a barrister bookcase and a Stickley chair along with estate jewelry, costume designer handbags, and ephemera such as toys, dolls, a Woodstock poster and framed tickets, Courvoisier Erte collectible bottles and more.
