Old Masters Part II: Paintings, Sculpture, Drawings and Watercolours
Following on from the most successful Old Masters Part II sale since 2018, Christie’s now presents our December Part II auction with an equally diverse range of collecting categories, schools, centuries and price points. All the major European schools are represented in paintings, drawings, watercolours, sculptures and objects, from the 15th to the 19th century. Estimates start at under £1,000 with over 50 lots to be sold without reserve. Highlights of the sale include a rare and fascinating painting on black Verona ‘marble’ by Alessandro Turchi along with its preparatory drawing, a group of intricate Limoge enamels and an exceptional watercolour by John Sell Cotman. There is something for every collector in Part II’s curated trove of treasures, whether it is a painting on canvas, panel, copper or limestone, a sculpture in bronze, marble, limewood, enamel or coral, or a work in pencil, charcoal, pastel or watercolour on paper. .
