Works by David Hockney and William Blake sit alongside a first edition copy of Where the Wild Things Are and Disney memorabilia. Further highlights include original Sendak artworks and personal photographs, providing collectors a peek into the dazzling mind behind such classics as Chicken Soup with Rice and In the Night Kitchen. To help ensure that children will continue to be enchanted by the next generation of visual storytellers, this sale will support the Sendak Fellowship at the Maurice Sendak Foundation, a residency programme that encourages, teaches and supports artists who tell stories with illustration. .
