The final online sale is entitled Irene Roosevelt Aitken: A Life on Fifth Avenue. This sale features jeweled, enameled and gold smoking and beauty accessories by Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and other 20th-century makers, as well as 18th- and 19th-century gold and porcelain snuff boxes. Further lots include porcelain, silver, linens and coffee-table books, with bids opening at $100. Property is available to view by appointment at our warehouses.
Irene Aitken was a true devotee of the arts and, to further her legacy of generosity, proceeds of the collection will go to the three New York cultural institutions closest to her heart: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Frick Collection and The Morgan Library & Museum.
