333 Auctions December General and Estate Sale

On Friday, December 12 at 4:00 p.m., 333 Auctions of Lambertville New Jersey will offer over 400 lots from a single-owner, private collection of eclectic antiques and decorative arts. The collection has been acquired over the last twenty years by an enthusiastic New York City collector whose lifelong passion for collecting from flea markets, auctions and dealers in unique items has resulted in the familiar problem of just "too much stuff". This auction offers a rare opportunity to purchase items of high quality and interest at fair estimate and all to be offered at no reserve.

Highlights of the sale include over 70 works of art; mostly 19th century European watercolors, prints and oil paintings, all professionally framed. A large selection of Asian works of art includes over fifty pieces of antique Chinese furniture, mostly in Ming style, featuring altar tables, tabourets and seat furniture, together with a good selection of Chinese scroll paintings and framed ancestor portraits. Other Asian works of art include carved stone Buddhistic heads suitable for indoor or outdoor use, bronzes, porcelain and extraordinary cloisonné ware, some of palace size.

A fascinating group of American folk art, including paintings, sculpture and some artifacts including advertising and fairground displays is featured. Highlighting this group is a pair of monumental carved and painted figures of Punch and Judy, carved in New England in the mid 20th century.

Also featured is a group of ethnographic artifacts, including Native American, African and South Sea Island works, many of impressive scale, together with European furniture and decorative arts, including a George Smith style chair and Italian table tops of specimen marble in Renaissance style and some garden ornaments.
