Antique and Modern Jewellery

The team at Fellows has fallen for numerous gorgeous pieces in February's auction of Antique & Modern Jewellery. The month couldn't be more suitable for our offering of Cartier love bangles and heart-shaped rubies. As always, the sale features a selection of stunning diamonds (see lots 186, 138, 150 and 352). It is Lot 137 that will really make you weak at the knees though, with a centre stone of 2.69cts and 1ct of surrounding diamonds. We also have a very special watch in the form of a 1960s lady's diamond cocktail watch (lot 128) by Jaeger-leCoultre with an estimated total diamond weight of 9.20cts. Given that February is the month of love, we have an enticing selection of Valentines-themed pieces. A diamond heart Tiffany ring (Lot 319) would make a perfect token of appreciation, as would Lot 115, a vivid ruby heart-shaped pendant. For those looking to really to make a statement this Valentines why not take a look a lot 318, an absolutely stunning woven gold clutch bag with diamond accents by Tiffany & Co. circa 1965. We are lucky to have a beautiful example of Art Deco Egyptian Revival in Lot 336. A gem-set winged scarab brooch with rose cut diamonds and rubies, the back has engraved hieroglyphs which an Egyptologist has translated as 'all good'. We also have another piece of history in the form of a late Victorian gold diamond, pearl and enamel Diamond Jubilee commemorative brooch, the engraved reverse reading '1837 Diamond Jubilee 1897' (Lot 13).
