Sale 527:Rare Golf Books & Memorabilia
Join us for over 450 lots of golf books, art, and memorabilia from the Libraries of Louis Weinstein, Richard Donovan and others. Included are some of the earliest mentions of golf, such as: Sermons to Gentlemen Upon Temperance and Exercise, by Dr. Benjamin Rush, 1772 or the 1566 Acts of Scotland, banning golf. In addition to those rarities, are some unusual and scarce items such as a Tarzan novel, inscribed from Edgar Rice Burroughs to his son, with a drawing of an ape-man golfing. There are numerous must-have golf books in exceptional condition, many books rare in dust jackets, plus a spectacular selection of artwork from the late 19th century to the modern day. Lots 466 to the end are shelf lots, each with a starting bid of $10. Photographs and descriptions are available on the website.
