Terms & Conditions
1) Purchaser
Buyers must satisfy themselves to the accuracy of their purchases done at the time of delivery.
Auctioneers will not be held responsible for any discrepancy discovered after the lots had been removed from either the auction room or the auctioneer's premises.
Each lot shall be at the buyer's risk from the fall of the hammer.
All purchases must be settled within 7 days after the auction and full payment has to be made upon collection of goods. In the event of any overdue payment, interest will be charged at 2% per month. We regret that credit card payments are strictly not accepted for auction purchases.
By making a bid the buyer acknowledges his acceptance of these conditions and shall be bound by them.
The auctioneers will not in any way hold themselves responsible for the safe custody of any lots left for more than 7 working days after the date of sale and reserve the right to charge storage and to resell by auction or privately, and without notice to the buyer, any lots not removed from their premises within 14 days from the day of sale. Buyers shall not be entitled to remove lots from the auction room during the course of the auction.
The auctioneers act solely as agents and shall not be responsible for any default or claims made by either the buyer or seller which may arise in respect of any Lot.
**All lots are subjected to buyer's premium of 13% on the hammered price. However there will be no additional charge for executing bids**
All sales and sale prices will be in Singapore Dollars. Buyers will be responsible to the auctioneers for all bank charges and any difference in the currency exchange upon conversion should they choose any other currency payment.
The highest bidder for each lot shall be the buyer thereof. In the event of any dispute the auctioneer shall have absolute discretion to determine the dispute and may even put up and re-sell the disputed lot.
In all conditions stated, 'the auctioneers' means Collectors Auction House. These conditions shall take effect and shall be constructed in accordance with the provision of the Singapore Law.
2) The Auctioneer's Rights
The Auctioneer reserves the rights to accept or refuse any bid without having to state any reason.
The Auctioneer shall not be responsible for any default by either the buyer or the seller or for any action or claim which may arise in respect of any Lot.
The Auctioneer reserves the rights to keep secret the reserve price of any Lot and to rearrange auction items by dividing or combining Lots to facilitate sales. He is also able to withdraw from sale any Lot described in the catalogue and to bid on behalf of any purchaser or vendor with or without his closure.
In the event that any Lot is not sold, the Auctioneer is able to offer and sell the Lot immediately via private arrangements at the Auctioneer's own discretion.
3) Reserve Price
The Auction sale is subject to a reserve price for each Lot below which Collectors Auction House has agreed with the Seller that the Lot cannot be sold.
For online bidding, bids that have yet reached their reserve will be considered as unsold and will be "passed".
4) Bidder
Bidding commissions for anyone unable to attend the auction in person will be carried out by the auctioneers without charge.
Sellers will not be allowed to bid on his own property or engage anyone to bid on his behalf.
On an event where two absentee bidders bid identical sums for the same Lot, priority will go to the first bid received.
All bids must be signed in writing.
By making a bid, the Buyer then acknowledges acceptance of all conditions stated and be bound by them.
If any Buyer fails to comply with any of these Conditions, the lot in respect of which the failure is made may, at Collectors Auction House own discretion, be put up again and resold.
All bank charges in wire transfers shall be borne by the Buyer. Please note that US cheques are not accepted. Online bidders may pay via wire transfers or via Paypal.
5) Postal Bidders
Bids may be accepted by Post, Fax or Telephone. All telephone bids must be confirmed in writing; the Auctioneers will not be responsible for any mistakes made in telephone communication.
All commission forms are advised to be returned soonest possible as bids are recorded in order of receipt. In the event where two bids for the same amount is received, the first highest bid to be received will take priority, subject of course to bids from the floor.
The Auctioneer will normally increase bidding in 10% jumps. We would advise postal bidders to keep their bids to the nearest multiple round figure, i.e. S$5, S$10, S$20, etc. Bids such as S$101 will be treated as S$100, and all similar odd number amounts will be rounded off to the nearest actual bid at the Auctioneer's discretion.
It is important to realise that the Auctioneer will attempt to purchase the Lot at the lowest possible price and that we understand the fact that the bid given is the maximum figure that the bidder is prepared to pay for any given Lot.
Postal bidders who are interested in more than one Lot but wish to limit their overall purchases to a particular amount may wish to mark their bids in the usual way and then clearly state the maximum amount they wish to spend in total. Similarly, bidders who wish to bid on a choice of two items should also indicate clearly on the bidding form 'either/or'.
Bidders will also be asked to give full details on how the invoice is to be sent or transmitted and how the Lot is to be dispatched. Successful bidders will be sent an invoice immediately following an auction, and all invoices must be settled in full before any item is dispatched, inclusive of any insurance and postage.
No additional charges are incurred for execution of bids on behalf of postal bidders.
6) Others
In the event of any discrepancy, the auctioneer shall have absolute discretion to resolve it, and may re-submit the Lot for sale at the auction.
A list of the 'Realised Prices' will be sent to bidders and consignors only. This list will also be available inside our next available catalogue.
All commissions handled by Collectors Auction House are treated in the strictest confidence and are 'knocked down' to the 'book'.
Please note that ALL gradings of non-graded coins/banknotes in this auction is only for reference purpose and it should not be taken as being the final grading by grading companies.
