To be offered are over 300 lots on the Beats, Counterculture & The Avant Garde, focusing on literature and culture of the 1960s, but also with a great number of modern fine press productions from important writers like William Everson and Lawrence Ferlinghetti. With a tremendous selection of underground art and comics, focusing on R. Crumb and S. Clay Wilson, including two original signed color paintings by Wilson. The culture of the 1960s was colorful, hopeful, and turbulent, and the offerings here reflect a range of Counterculture movements across the United States such as Black Panther, Hippies, Yippies, Students for a Democratic Society, Free Speech Movement, and the events of the 1968 Chicago Democratic National Convention. We are also offering several illustrated underground, literary, or satirical periodicals like Gothic Blimp Works, Aspen, Avant Garde, Horseshit, and Evergreen.
