FINE ART, ANTIQUE AND COUTURE

William J. Jenack's sale of December 14, 2014 will include a collection of Asian art and ceramics, fine art, Victorian furnishings, carpets, bronzes, chandeliers and many other decorative accessories. As with most of Jenack's auctions artwork will be a major aspect of the auction. Fine art in the catalog will lead with a pastel and gouache by Thomas Hart Benton, titled ?The Dreamer?, a landscape with a figure laying in the foreground watching a train. Other artwork will include a hand written letter signed by Pablo Picasso with an ink drawing of a fawn or Minotaur with a dedication and also signed by Picasso, an oil on board, vase of flowers, by David Burliuk, an oil on canvas of an Alpine mountainous landscape by Joeseph Zeller, oil on canvas Venetian boudoir by Luigi Cagliani, oil on canvas, oil on canvas Parisian street scene by Charles Cobelle, gouache on paper of a North African village street by Henri Langerock, oil on ebonized panel of roses by George Cochran Lambdin, Italian School, 18th century, portrait of a woman in a wonderful period gilt frame, French School, 19th century, portrait of a young man after Sully, oil on panel titled ?Shipping off the Battery-New York? by Frederick Tordoff. Also slated for sale will be a grouping of Napoleon related collectibles including a Dresden porcelain bust and figure, pair of porcelain chargers depicting Napoleon and his troops, a Bavarian porcelain charger featuring the bust of Napoleon among several others. Decorative accessories and bronzes will include an elaborated hand painted French porcelain pen stand and inkwells with a matching porcelain dip pen, Meissen porcelain figures including a cherub with dog, an Orientalist figure of a woman and a figure of a man in 18th century costume. A bronze by Bessie Potter Vonnoh titled ?Motherhood?, after Chiparus, bronze of a girl with book bag, and a bronze by Antonin Larroux titled ?The Harvest? , a Tibetan Thonlea on canvas, antique Islamic wood paneL.
