Rare U.S. Coins Estate of Barbara Hussey

Michaan's presents its first ever stand-alone coin auction on March 6, 2015, featuring pieces of excellence from the estate of Barbara Hussey Riggins. The sale contains over 300 fine coin lots from the estate, with selections spanning high grade, U.S. platinum and gold pieces. The coin collection, which Ms. Riggins started amassing in the early 1950s, has now been sorted into sale lots with an approximate cumulative low estimate of $500,000. The rare and desirable collection highlights U.S. Liberty Head gold coins such as an 1878-S $20 MS63 ($12,000-15,000), an 1887-S $20 MS63 ($10,000-12,000) and an 1875 $20 MS64 ($10,000-12,000). Michaan?s Coin and Stamp Specialist Mr. Michael Rosenberg commented on the aforementioned pieces, stating, ?The grading on these coins is very rare; their condition is exceptional, pristine. To find low mint pieces such as these in this condition is undoubtedly a collector?s treasure.?
