Treasures of Asian Art

This auction takes you on a journey along the timeline of Asian Art. There is a strong focus on Chinese ceramics and porcelains. Among this vast but exquisite selection is a delicate pair of iron-red and apple-green Wufu‘ dishes from the Qianlong period or a finely painted Famille Verte Rouleau vase dating to the Qing dynasty. The art from the Indian subcontinent is best represented by a buff sandstone sculpture of Ganesha from the 7th/8th century. The sculpture comes with an important documented provenance as it was acquired in a leading New York gallery in the 1980s. Characteristic furniture, beautiful silverware and fine jade carvings, such as a white jade pendant with Prunus blossoms, round up the sale’s attractive selection.
