Important Asian Art - Part I

This auction marks the beginning of Auctionata?s June Asian Art Day, and has been carefully curated by the Berlin Department for Asian Art. Among the exquisite selection of fine Chinese works of art is an extremely rare gilt bronze figure of Manjusri, dating to the Yongle period (1402-1424). The figure comes from a South-German collection and has been in the family since the 1960s. With the same notable provenance there are also several other important artworks included in the auction, such as the Yellow Jade Carving of Ruyi and Linghzhi. While browsing through the highlights of the sale it is impossible to miss the scroll painting ?Scholar in a Garden?, a characteristic work by the famous Zhang Daqian, signed and dated 1934. Great porcelains like the Famille Rose ?Chicken & Rooster? Dish from the late 18th/19th C. are lined up with marvelous jade items, like the apple green Jadeite Necklace with 78 Beads. The perspective on Asian Art is broadened by magnificent works from Japan, for example a Hanging Scroll depicting Amida Raig? from the 14th C. Enjoy the selection of great masterpieces and stay tuned for the second part of this sale series!
