Item was incorrectly described as an oban when it is actually a chuban, sheet measures 8 by 12 (image 6 1/2 by 11). Also, they charged my credit card for sales tax, when the transaction doesn't appear to be subject to sales tax, and declined to make explanation. So... in terms of accuracy and responsiveness, Ukiyoe Gallery fails the tests.

No surprises-great to work with.

In the world of contemporary woodblock prints this is a sound house with a nice variety of works. I have purchased from them before and will again.

Notice of winning bid came from LiveAuctioneers. Did not hear from Ukiyoe for several days thereafter, which left me hanging for awhile. I tried calling Ukiyoe, but no one answered for several days. Finally, when my call was answered I was told that they are a small outfit and cannot respond like Amazon or Facebook. The print itself was smaller than I expected and the quality of the drawing was less detailed than than in the photos on the website. I would not have bought the print had I known. At least Ukiyoe was very conscientious in the way the print was packaged and shipped. The lesson is to be very sure you really can see what you’re buying online and are confident you’ll like it. I was not sufficiently careful.

This is a most charming print for lovers of black kitties! The red background is like damask, but truly like lace! I have purchased other prints by this artist Norikane Hiroto, but this is the first mezzotint work! Phenomenal!
