Charlie Watts: Literature and Jazz Part I

Charlie Watts (1941-2021) made his first appearance with The Rolling Stones in 1963, and for almost sixty years provided the steady heartbeat to the ‘Greatest Rock n Roll band in the world’. Outside of fame his great lifelong loves were Literature and Jazz, passions forged in childhood and this unrivalled collection of modern first editions and iconic jazz memorabilia was built with intelligence and dedication and offer a glimpse into Charlie’s unique place in the history of Rock n Roll. The landmark sale will take place at Christie’s, London on 28 September 2023, with the Part II online sale closing the following day. “Charlie was the heartbeat of the Rolling Stones for nearly sixty years, he was totally unique and devoted to jazz and literature from boyhood.
