Description
  • Title: Folk Art Diner on Cracker Box by Lewis Smith: Pepsi Cola
  • Provenance/Additional Info: This is a folk art, Outsider Art drawing of a diner on cracker box, with the title and name of Pepsi Cola. It was done by Lewis Smith, a reclusive outsider artist. He lived most of his life in the woods of Ohio, alone after the death of his mother. He passed away in 1998. His drawing, writing, and painting on recycled paper, cardboard, and the walls of his house and buildings reflects his preoccupation with muscular women boxers and wrestlers, trains, time, and money. Crackers were a big part of his diet, and he then recycled the boxes into art. This pieces is about 10" by 17". His work is included in museums and folk art art collections throughout the world.
