Description
A painting by Maud Lewis (1903-1970) of a favourite local cove with the red-roofed Lynch House on the shore and the ferry Princess Helene entering the harbour. The Princess Helene was launched on May 12th, 1930 and operated in the Bay of Fundy between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia for some 30 years. This painting is a fall scene with some yellowing leaves and three white seagulls circling over the house. Painted on the green board typically associated with her work and mounted in a simple beveled pine frame. Signed Lewis, circa 1960. Sight: H: 11", W: 13" . CODE:PFA
