Oil on canvas, 22" x 36". Framed 29" x 43".
Provenance:
Northeast Auctions, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, August 1994, purchased by the Kelton Foundation.

The sail/steam schooner
Alabama was built at Harlan & Hollingsworth at Wilmington, Delaware for W.D. Munson of New York in 1873. She went out of service in 1901.
Condition
Overall excellent condition. Under white light there is apparent (stable) craquelure, the canvas is unlined and under UV examination there are no apparent in-paint or restoration. The painting would benefit from relining, a light cleaning and some fresh varnish.
