Description
Unusual Carved Oak Circular Expandable Robert Jupe Style Dining Table, 20th c., by DeWitt Designs, the rounded edge circular top with fold out leaves, on four turned tapered legs to a quadruped base with scrolled splayed feet, H.- 31 in., Dia.- Closed- 53 in., Open- 72 in. Note: Robert Jupe was a British cabinetmaker who patented this table in 1835.
Condition
Condition consistent with age and use. Wear and tear throughout. Loss to finish on several edges, most likely due to pushing and pulling edges to open and close leaves. See additional photos for reference. Table expands by pulling each triangular section outwards, and then unfolding leaves that are contained within base.
