ENGLISH AMERICAN HISTORICAL "PEACE AND PLENTY" JASPERWARE-STYLE REFINED STONEWARE JUG / PITCHER, featuring applied sprig-molded designs depicting the Great Seal of the United States on one side with reverse having a profile of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap, with double cornucopias and grasped hands below spout, having "PEACE & PLENTY" impressed on banner below. Unmarked. Circa 1825. 4 3/8" HOA.
Excellent visual condition with professional restoration to spout.
Literature: Parallels the Armans - Anglo-American Ceramics, Part I, p. 239, figs. AI.52, AI.53, and AI.54.
Provenance: From the collection of Nick Routson, Phoenix, AZ.Ex-collection of Eloise Baker Larsen, descended from her son.
