Large Native American Man with Closed Eyes by Aaron Freeland signed & framed. Print 35x23", frame 49x36". Triple mat. Signed by artist. Native American man in bluish green attire with a matching headband standing with his eyes closed, possibly a monotype or a painting on paper. Education: Institute of American Indian Arts, Santa Fe, New Mexico 1973-1976. His work has appeared in the Santa Fe Indian Market, Institude of American Indian Arts Museum, Wheelwright Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts. Aaron Freeland is an award-winning Dine’ (Navajo) artist from Farmington, New Mexico and one of the best pastel artists in the Native American art scene. He produces works in oil (on canvas), monotype, and pastel as well as monotype with hand applied colored chalk and opaque watercolor. Aaron's signature works are oils and pastels painted on black paper, specifically portraying truth through his portraits.
