Late 18th or early 19th century, the rectangular hinged lid black lacquer book form decorated with gilt figure of a man holding a double gourd with a horse in the distance, opening to reveal an interior fitted with six individual compartments with lids, each lid with gilt floral decoration. Provenance: Colefax & Fowler, London. 11 3/4 x 9 1/2 inches.Condition: very good, light wear, lacking a small support element on underside.
