Description

British, late 18th/early 19th century, figured mahogany throughout, dovetailed drawers with oak linings, lower case fitted with brush slide, set on straight bracket feet, drawers with modern yellow felt linings, 75 x 43-1/2 x 22 in.

Provenance: Private Collection, Palm Beach

Condition

upper and lower cases probably a marriage, brasses replaced, scattered typical veneer distress including warping at drawer facings, some minor fading and finish distress, plugged holes at replaced brasses, patches and repairs at some moldings, original feet with some repairs and restorations, rebuilding to lower case (replaced backboards), strip patch at one drawer facing, other scattered veneer patches and repairs, some finish drips, shadows from previous escutcheons, original cornice with some possible reveneering
