Social insurance was introduced in the Soviet Union in 1921, and covered a variety of emergencies - sick and maternity leaves, disability, pensions for families that had lost a provider, food assistance for children, unemployment compensation, funeral expense allowances, etc. The poster shows the insurance fund's payments in each of these categories
