A SHEFFIELD PLATED EPERGNE WITH CUT CRYSTAL BOWLS

The silver-on-copper epergne having a fluted and gadrooned trumpet-shaped top section over a wide spreading base set on four scroll feet; the top rim, midpoint, and base edge embellished with embossed foliate decoration; four curving arms attached at the midpoint end in small shallow cups for an assembled set of four small cut crystal bowls, the large bowl set into the top center; each of the circular bowls having a serrated scalloped rim, the sides cut with an alternating pattern; the lower part of each bowl stepped down in size to a circular base with a cut design.
Conditiion: Silver piece: rim of top section showing some copper beneath; the exterior surfaces all darkened; large bowl: 1 conchoidal chip in edge; small bowls: one larger one with 1 small edge chip, another larger one with 3 small edge chips. total: 14 ¼ x 21 ¼ inches (36.2 x 54 cm); large bowl: 4 x 11 ½ inches (10.1 x 29.2 cm); small bowls: 2 3/8 x 5 ¼ inches (6 x 13.3 cm)
